What Is A Pole Barn?
Pole barn construction dates back many centuries. This time-trusted technique is used to construct sturdy, long-lasting buildings. Pole barns use wood posts connected to rafters or trusses as a framing system. The posts are either buried in the earth, bracketed to concrete, pier assembly, or stem wall to provide support for the building. A pole barn roof is supported by these posts or by girders. The sloping roofs are great for shedding water and snow.
